It’s kind of crazy, but I’ve always performed for my friends. I was always singing, like when we would go on trips with my cheerleading team, we’d sing and do karaoke. I’ve never been one to just sit down, be calm and watch movies.
My brothers decided to make sure that all of the kids in school know that Miley Cyrus is his sister. They all stop by and say hi!
It hasn’t really felt real (yet). All this hard work I’ve done my entire life is about to pay off.
I auditioned forever. At first they said I was too small and too young.
As soon as I read the script, I knew it kinda related to me. I wanted to disguide myself as not some celebrity’s daughter, just be me and find people that like me for me.

I’ll be out with my friends and be recognized, and little girls will ask me for my autograph. It is so much fun living out your dream. It (Her show Hannah Montana”) totally reflects me 100%.
Some people recognize me. I really like it. I think Hannah gets nervous just like any other person would. She’s like a dork, personally. She’s just really, really fun.
Whatever person kids relate to the most, I want them to call me that. Some of Hannah’s more who they find their inspiration in, call me Hannah. If they’re more an average girl who wants to blend in with everybody else, then call me Miley.
People actually say Miley mostly because they see Miley mostly on the show. When I have the wig on, they’ll say Hannah, but when I don’t, they’ll say Miley.
Some of the fanmail is interesting! Some of it’s the lyrics to the songs and stuff, and they’ll like, send me their favourite lines, which is cool to…know what people are liking. Most of them are really cool to read.
The beach set of Hannah Montana is dirty, but it’s kinda fun to feel like you’re on the beach!
When preparing for a concert, I do lots of training. I work with a choreographer to create great moves and then I have to keep my voice strong with lessons.
It’s itchy, really itchy and hot, but I like being blonde. I don’t really want to dye my hair. I feel like a total rock star with the wig on.”
Sometimes when I go into my dressing room at lunch, I’m like, Is that me? It’s really cool because it looks nothing like me, which is the point, but its really neat to see it! [on being done up as Hannah Montana]
I’m a big shoe person. Sometimes I’ll be punky, the next day I’ll be preppy. Every day after work, my mom and I go shopping. My dad is about to kill me. I say, ‘We need it, daddy!’
Every day, I go on pretty big shopping sprees. But when I’m with my friends, they get even worse.They’re always like, ‘Come on, just do it!’ It’s hard when you have someone to talk you into it.
I always have two bracelets on my right arm. One is a purple and white bracelet from a fan. I love it! I also wear a bracelet from a waterpark- I’ve had it on for two or three years. My mom says it’s pretty nasty, actually. But you’ll never see me without them ever! In magazine photos, the bracelets are sometimes airbrushed our, but viewers will always see me wearing them during scenes.
I love everything [Jessica Simpson] ever has on! Jessica can definitely come pick me up in her little Mercedes and take me shopping if she wants
I don’t really have a style — I’m just me. My style is kinda whatever I feel like wearing. A lot of girls feel like they need to wear what everyone else is wearing. But it’s good to have your own trend. People will start following it!
My favourite sport is cheerleading!
They’re going to be pretty harsh, so no matter what they’re going to honestly think, they’re going to be like, “You stay, you go home.” That was the most nerve-wracking part. [on auditioning for cheerleader]
When [my Dad and I] are doing photo shoots or something he’ll just yell out things I wouldn’t want anyone to know. Just random stuff. “Remember that time when you were a kid? That kind of stuff. But it’s funny. It breaks the ice. It makes everyone smile. If it takes embarrassing me to make everyone happy I’ll take it.
We’ll have an argument at home, and then I realize I’m going to have to drive to work with him. It’s the longiest hour of my life. If feels like I’ve been in the car for four days!
What’s good is that once my dad and I are home we are done. We don’t even run lines together. Anything that happens on the set stays on the set.
The only advice my Dad’s given me is: If you ain’t having fun, it ain’ working, so always have fun with what you’re doing. If you don’t love it then there’s no reason to do it. And don’t do it for fame or money- do it because it’s something that you feel is right.
My dad said, Just stay in school and do cheerleading. Be a normal kid.

It was hard to leave my school. I’ve been going to the same school since kindergarten.
I come from this really small town near Nashville, Tennessee, where everything was la-di-da and normal.
I went to Universal [Studios Hollywood theme park] with my brother and a friend. The recognition was immediate. It was craziness — all the kids on every ride. I felt like I was going to hurl after one ride and all the kids were like, ‘Hannah Montana is about to puke! So then all these people were like following me. It got kind of creepy, but then again, I was like, ‘Oh, gosh, this is so cool! Awesome!
I was having lunch with my brother and I had on my pyjamas, I wasn’t wearing makeup, and my hair was totally nasty. So we get to the restaurant and the first thing I hear is, ‘You look a lot better on TV!
Sometimes it’s really weird to hear stuff like that. I just think ‘Well that was harsh!’. But then again, there are times when someone will come up to me and say , ‘Ohmigosh! You’re so cute and I love your show!’. And when that happens I just think ‘This is sweet!
Hilary Duff has been my role model forever. I went to her concert like right when her music started coming out when I was probably like 11. I was just amazed by her. So now, to be compared to her, it’s like…holy moly. It’s so cool
As soon as I step on that stage, nothing matters. I don’t think of it as work. It’s just so much fun.
I was singing on the stage with my dad when I was 2. I would sing ‘Hound Dog’ and silly songs for the fun of it.
I have four shelves covered with journals that I’ve written. Dad and I are writing songs together. I’ve probably written 100 songs
When you write or sing a song that means something to you, you are saying, ‘You know what? This is who I am!’
My Dad always told me that casting agencies are like artists picturing their paintings in their mind. They know what they want for a role and not to take it too seriously [if I don't get the part].
You don’t have to go out and party every night. You can act because it’s your dream.
I am not very good at keeping secrets at all! If you want your secret kept do not tell me!
[In a fight] I try to be the bigger person. There’s no harm in saying, “You know what? Whatever. I’m going to let it roll off. I try to be generous with my response.

It’s been an insane year. I watched my dad doing this my whole life, and then it was my turn to step up to the plate and follow in his footsteps. It’s been my dream to sing, but I also thought it would be cool to act and get to be someone else. Having this amazing role of Hannah Montana, where I get to sing and act, has been really fun
I think my dad is alot cooler than other dads. He still acts like he’s still 17
I have more fun playing Hannah, because I like to sing and dress up.
My dad and I talk all the time about the important stuff in my life. He and my mom know how much I appreciate them and our relationship is good because we spend time together. I am happy to be a part of this day to help other kids feel the same way

(Faith is) the main thing. That’s kind of why I’m like here in Hollywood: to be like a light, a testimony to say God can take someone from Nashville and make me this, but it’s his will that made this happen
I’ve always loved singing, and I’ve always loved acting and dancing. Getting this opportunity with Disney (the role of Hannah Montana), I get to do it all. They let you do everything you love
