Miley Cyrus has insisted that her family is doing fine following the reunion of Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus.
The popstar’s parents were on the verge of a divorce last year, but Billy Ray revealed that he was calling off the marriage termination in March, stating that he wanted to put his family back together.
Speaking to The AP, Miley said that she feels comfortable leaving home to tour now that she knows her parents are together.
“I think it’s good, especially when you go on the road. You have to make sure everyone is happy before you start traveling, you’re away,” the 18-year-old explained. “My family is good. They are stoked for the tour. As long as I’m happy, they are happy.”
Miley Cyrus isn’t trying to be controversial.
The former Hannah Montana star — who has come under fire for her scantily clad outfits and outrageous behavior — says she’s not trying to make a “statement”.
“It’s not about how far I can push things so people will believe I’m not Hannah Montana anymore,” Miley says. “You just make the music that you love and because I’m growing up, you know, so does my music.
“It’s not about trying to make a statement about growing up. You know … you just do.”
